Our aim, through opening the institution to the public and fostering direct communication with society, is to contribute to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, breaking down prejudices, and raising public awareness that mental illnesses are part of health and deserve treatment, dignity, understanding, and respect.

Since taking office as Director, we have promised that the “Skopje” Psychiatric Hospital would be a transparent institution, with open doors for everyone — citizens, family members, the media, and all those who wish to see firsthand our work and efforts. Today, through concrete actions, we are demonstrating that we are fulfilling this promise.

Behind every hospital door is a human story. That is why it is everyone’s responsibility to talk more about mental health and less about prejudice.
